Fu Wenjun’s work redefines the traditions found at the core of photographic arts, creating unique and monumental works that reach beyond the mere act of recording a photographic image.
Through his practice in a range of mediums - including digital art, installation, sculpture and oil painting - combined with photography, the artist has developed a unique visual language in his work; a concept he refers to as ‘Digital Pictorial Photography’. By creating works which demonstrate the complimentary relationship of photographs and other artistic mediums, he transforms what may be considered an inaccessible message into a highly approachable concept, triggering critical thought about humanity.
